Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s influence is reaching beyond New York state borders according to Time Magazine. The magazine selected several New Yorkers for their annual 100 Most Influential People in the World list, which will be published Thursday.
Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell listed Cuomo’s work on teacher evaluations, granting $16 billion to fix the state’s infrastructure, and lowering business taxes as reasons to keep an eye on what he claims is “his party’s rising stars.”
The list also included Jeremy Lin, the Knicks star who captivated the world with his sudden rise from the bench to household name in February. Lin, who is currently recovering from knee injury, captivated the country during “Linsanity,” and brought storylines such as his faith and ethnicity to talk of his game stats.
Timothy Dolan, Roman Catholic archbishop of New York and Tim Tebow, newly acquired quarterback for the New York Jets were among other New Yorkers on the list.
