Conan O'Brien, host of the “Tonight Show” is well and recovering after bumping his head during the taping of Friday night’s show while attempting a stunt, in a statement released by NBC.

“Conan is resting comfortably at home…[and] is expected to return to work on Monday,” said an NBC spokesperson.

The new “Tonight Show” host was performing a stunt with Desperate Housewives star Terri Hatcher, when he slipped, bumped his head, and received a concussion.

O'Brien, was subsequently taken to the hospital where he was treated promptly.

Host Baton Handoff

O‘Brien, who has been the host of the “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” prime time talk show took over Jay Leno as host for the “Tonight Show” in June in a less than controversial hand-off than in years’s past.

Leno, who took over as host of the “Tonight Show” won the position after a controversial internal decision by NBC to hire Leno, and not David Letterman.

Leno has since taken on the hosting duties of a new primetime show at the 10 p.m. slot, called the “Jay Leno Show.”
