CM Punk is not returning to the WWE, or wrestling in general, the former star said at a music event.

Punk was hosting the Alternative Press Music Awards when he was stopped on the red carpet.

Speculation has been rampant that Punk will return at some point to the WWE after suddenly leaving the league earlier this year and then declaring retirement, but Punk seemed to put those rumors to rest.

Asked if a return to wrestling was ever possible, the 35-year-old said: “No. No. No. Never ever. Never ever ever.”

“They’re going to go crazy about that on Twitter,” he added. “They’re going to hold me to it, and yeah, whatever.”

Punk had voiced displeasure with how things are run in the WWE before leaving the company, and the league isn’t pleased with his actions.

A number of wrestlers have discussed the situation. Kurt Angle recently spoke to The Ross Report about his thoughts.

“I wanted to contact him and say ‘Listen, Punk, you’re working full time now but its not going to last forever and there’s going to come a time when you want to go part time too,” Angle said.

“You’re going to be able to have that spot at WrestleMania as a part time worker so try not to put the fire out before you end up there because there might come a time when you might want to do that.”

Others have voiced support for Punk, such as former wrestler Matt Morgan.

Morgan, who was nicknamed “The Blueprint, told The NB Show that he supports Punk.

“He had his reasons to leave and he stuck by them, and I think that’s admirable at the end of the day, I really, really do,” Morgan said. “Not enough guys have the balls to do this kind of thing, and if more guys did, I guarantee you … how they come up with [storylines] and focus on the talent would be a little different.”

Meanwhile, Punk’s new wife AJ Lee has returned to the WWE and is the Divas Champion once again.

She recently posted a photo of herself with Kaitlyn (real name Celeste Bonin).

“I maybe sorta missed you a little bit...” Lee said via Twitter, hugging Celeste. The two wrestlers came into the league at the same time, and Lee actually won her first Divas Championship from Kaitlyn in 2013.
