Since their publication nearly three years ago, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party —a series of social commentaries detailing the brutal history of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)—have inspired masses of people from mainland China to submit statements to The Epoch Times’s Tuidang website (tuidang.epochtimes.com) formally declaring their withdrawals from the CCP and its related organizations. More than 26 million individual statements have been submitted at press time. Even statements from Chinese officials can be found among the many withdrawals. Several such examples follow.

“610 Office” Staff Members Quit the CCP

In August 2007, a staff member at the “610 Office” (an organization formed solely to crack down on Falun Gong) named Ma Wen logged onto The Epoch Times’s Service Center for Quitting CCP and wrote his reasons for quitting the Party. “I feel extremely ashamed that I am a member of the ”610 Office“ in mainland China. Ignorant of the truth, I did many wrong things [that contributed to] the persecution of Falun Gong. After meeting with many Falun Gong practitioners, I came to realize that they are all good people. So I am here to apologize to Falun Dafa’s Teacher and apologize to Falun Gong practitioners. From now on, I will help Falun Gong with the opportunities I have at my job. One of my relatives, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, urged me to quit the CCP many times, so I am declaring here that I am withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party and all its affiliated organizations,” wrote Ma.

Wang Changxing, a county government official and “610 Office” staff member, also wrote his reasons for quitting the Party. He explained that the CCP cheated him and poisoned his mind, corrupting his home and work lives. “Especially after July, 1999, the CCP started to suppress Falun Gong, and I became involved in the suppression and helped brainwash Falun Gong practitioners,” wrote Wang. “I realize now that these were criminal acts committed toward good people. I deeply regret what I’ve done. I’m withdrawing from the evil Party and all its affiliated organizations in order to be a good person.”

Deputy Secretary of Political-Legal Committee Renounce the CCP

“As a deputy secretary of the political-legal committee, I have been doing Party and government work for many years and I have observed that the only thing that the CCP does is punish good people,” wrote a veteran Party member from China’s Shandong Province. “When Falun Gong practitioners revealed the truth, I realized that this evil Party is headed for destruction, so I have made a decision to quit the CCP for my own safety. I am here to withdraw from this evil Party and all its affiliated organizations. I am so fortunate to know the universal principles of ‘Truth, Compassion and Forbearance,’ and I intend to start practicing Falun Dafa. I want to be a good person by following the standard of ‘Truth, Compassion and Forbearance.’”

Party Secretaries Withdraw from the CCP

“I was a secretary for the Party committee in a factory before I retired,” wrote Zheng Xianggui from Guangdong Province. “A friend told me the truth [of the Party] recently, so I realized that the only way to save myself is to withdraw from the CCP and all its affiliated organizations.” Zheng has renounced his CCP membership and quit all the CCP organizations.

“I now completely see through the evil face of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),” wrote a Communist Party Secretary from Mianyang City in China’s Sichuan Province. “I respect Falun Gong practitioners’ indomitable courage and peaceful resistance to the persecution. I vow to quit the CCP.”

“I was deceived for many years by the CCP but I’ve started practicing Falun Gong since my nephew told me the truth of [the practice],” wrote Zhao Defa, who has been the Party Secretary in his village for most of his life. “My nephew was sent to a labor re-education camp twice because he practices Falun Gong, which brought his family to ruin. Witnessing my nephew being persecuted so badly, how can I still identify with this Party? I recall that in the past I was forced to follow the CCP even though I personally disagreed with many of its political campaigns, such as the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, June 4th Tiananmen Massacre, and the crackdown of Falun Gong. I do not want to follow the CCP in continuing to commit wickedness, so I solemnly declare that I quit the Party.”

Officials of Various Ranking Resign from the CCP

“I am the director of a Bureau office,” wrote Ma Shitu. “I oppose the crackdown of Falun Gong because I know there is nothing wrong being a good person—I’ve seen that my retired colleagues have become healthier after practicing Falun Gong. The CCP has committed many crimes and we have just started to become aware of them—we have actually been deceived by the CCP. We should not sacrifice for the CCP. Instead, I believe that good deeds result in good rewards—What God will, no frost can kill. I would like to do more good deeds and I intend to be a good leader. I declare my withdrawal from the CCP.

“Politics are corrupt,” wrote CCP official Wang San. “The society is unstable and rife with nepotism. I think the CCP is hopeless. Together with my wife, son, daughter and son-in-law, I vow to quit the CCP and its organizations.

Zhao Minghui, a president of a city bank, decided to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations including the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers. “I think my colleagues gave a very reasonable explanation about the truth of Falun Gong,” wrote Zhao. “To ensure a bright future, I’ve decided to withdraw from the CCP.”

Two junior officials surnamed Yang and Niu under the State Council in Beijing both announced their withdrawals from the CCP. “Those officials who call themselves servants of common people actually enjoy completely different lives,” one of the officers wrote. “Everyday, there are voices from common people asking for justice; the actual number of mass protests is simply unbelievable. This is the situation everyone must consider. I’ve carefully reviewed the Nine Commentaries and have analyzed and verified every point. It’s given me a clear mind that I have never had in the past. I know that even corrupt officials believe that these are the last days of the CCP so they try to embezzle as much as they can. How could I have confidence in this Party? So I vow to quit the CCP and welcome a bright future ahead.”
