“Watching the show tonight made me very homesick. I grew up in Taiwan, and my step-mother was Chinese … I see the beautiful costumes and the elegant dancing and all the movements and the beautiful scenery, and it just tears at my heart, because I always feel like I belong over there.
“The older you get, you learn the history behind it and stories behind it, and a much deeper appreciation for the Chinese culture. So I very much enjoyed the show tonight.
“It’s just so elegant. You see this sincerity in the faces of the people that are performing. They’re all so beautiful, and the guys are so handsome. And I think the elegance of it exudes emotion. So I think that’s why it touches—the expressions on the face.”
