A few years ago, China’s high-speed rail seemed poised to be a shining global leader into the future of transportation. That plan seems to have crashed against the corruption of the Ministry of Railways.
The Ministry had its own police force and became a source of power for those involved. It’s minister took $10 million in bribes and it was left with more than $400 billion in debt before it dissolved. That was just the beginning.
