Churches in China are now required to praise the Chinese Communist Party in sermons and “intensify patriotic education,” according to Bitter Winter—a publication focusing on China’s religious freedom and human rights issues.

Public churches across China were all closed due to the CCP virus pandemic since late January. In mid-June, Chinese authorities announced that church assembly can be resumed but the prerequisite is that the priest must follow the new “patriotic” preaching guidelines.

A Chinese Christian posted a video online, to illustrate how the original text in the Bible “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress… my high tower,” was altered to praise the CCP in his church.
