BALTIMORE—Ms. Lisa Bayne, the owner of a business in Essex, Maryland, Katelyn Comeau and Ms. Bayne’s parents watched the Shen Yun Performing Arts show in Baltimore’s Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric on January 18.

The venue was ideal for a performance that brought true Chinese culture to Baltimore, because this venue has a close to 120 year history of presenting shows with different flavors.

Therefore the Shen Yun performance fits well in with the history of the venue, because it brings ancient Chinese folk dances to its audiences and embodies the ethnic character of the Chinese people.

“Oh, I loved the show. My husband bought us the tickets. It was fabulous and dramatic as well. I just loved this show,” said Ms. Bayne.

Established in 2006 by a group of overseas artists, Shen Yun has set out on a mission to revive 5,000 years of civilization, in particular the spirituality that was part of China’s divinely inspired culture.

Ms. Comeau chimed in that she was amazed because she also loved the performance. Besides, the young lady was highly impressed with the interactivity between the actors and the scenes projected from a digital-backdrop.

She said thinking of her friends, “I would definitely recommend this show to anybody.”

However, she shared that she would keep secret in what she had seen on stage and let everyone be amazed as she was.

She continued, “There were a lot of scenes that everyone would love.”

Ms. Bayne’s parting words were that she felt the words in the flyer announcing the Shen Yun show resounded with her. It told her that it is easier to come to earth than to return to the heavens.

She said that the message she took away from the performance “felt very profound. “
