NEW YORK—Brooklyn Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012 starts Thursday at Industry City at Bush Terminal in Sunset Park and will continue through April 1.

The event kicks off with a VIP reception followed by a silent auction of products from international designers and businesses, and finally a runway fashion show.

The event primarily features eco-friendly, ready to wear, and couture designers and is presented by nonprofit organization Brooklyn Style Foundation (BSF). Designers participating in the four-day event include local, national, and international emerging talent. Some designers featured in previous seasons include Lea Mono, Denim by Marie, and Kachi Design.

The BSF was founded in 2006 and has since dedicated each season of Brooklyn Fashion Week to showcasing the works of aspiring designers and supporting charitable organizations, such as The Abner Louima Foundation, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, and the Japan Society.
