According to Hong Kong’s Mingpao newspaper, a suicide bomber attacked a local government building in Le'an Town, Santai County in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province on Oct. 21, 2008, causing four deaths and one injury. The four deaths are reported to be mostly government workers who were in the building at the time.
Sichuan NewsNet reported on this incident yesterday and said the incident was “a home-made gun powder explosion which happened at the Le'anchang town, Santai County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, with three deaths happening onsite, one death in the hospital, and one person wounded.”
The reports do not mention the background of the person who committed the attack or the motive.
