Poll Shows J.D. Vance Takes the Lead in GOP Senate Race, Ohio Voters React

Fueled by Donald Trump’s endorsement, Hillbilly Elegy author and venture capitalist J.D. Vance has surged to a five-point lead in the Ohio GOP U.S. Senate race, according to a Fox News survey of Ohio voters participating in the May 3 GOP primary that was released on April 27.

In the first independent poll announced since Trump said he was backing Vance on April 15, Vance gained 23 percent support—a 12-point increase compared to March. Josh Mandel was second with 18 percent, followed by Mike Gibbons (13 percent), Matt Dolan (11 percent), and Jane Timken (6 percent).
