Clinton clinched the nomination after winning decisively in the June 7 primaries, making her the first ever female presumptive nominee of any major American party.
“I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,” said Obama on the three-minute video endorsing her.
“She’s got the courage, the compassion, and the heart to get the job done. And I say that as somebody who had to debate her more than 20 times,” the president continued, referring to his hard-won 2008 primary.
“I want those of you who have been with me since the beginning of this incredible journey to be the first to know that I’m with her,” he said. “I am fired up. And I can’t wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary.”
Its was also announced that Obama and Clinton will give their first joint rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on June 15.
