On 9 August 2022, Professor Gabriël Moens and The Epoch Times published an article which referred to Mr. John Coates, in relation to his role, as then President of the Australian Olympic Committee in the successful bid for Brisbane to host the 2032 Olympic Games.
Professor Moens and The Epoch Times accept that a number of statements about Mr. John Coates in the article were false and defamatory, and they withdraw them unconditionally.
Professor Moens and The Epoch Times apologise to Mr. Coates.
