A 19-year-old from the Poplar neighborhood of London has been charged with murdering 16-year-old Ajmol Alom said Scotland Yard on August 14.
Alom was stabbed in the leg after he and his friends were confronted by a group of men wearing hoods and bandannas in Poplar in east London on August 12, according to the NewMarket Journal.
The encounter happened around 9:50 p.m. that night.
Ajmol was badly wounded after being stabbed and later died at an area hospital.
Another youth was stabbed through the cheek, but is still alive.
The Metropolitan Police announced the charging of Khan on Wednesday, reported SkyNews. He’s been charged with murder and attempted murder.
He’ll appear in Thames Magistrates Court on Thursday.
A second 19-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
