Alka Punewar says that she faked dying for the sake of her sons.
Punewar, 22, is best known as an actress.
She faked her death to get away from her husband and elope with her boyfriend, reported the Times of India.
Punewar said that she faked her death so that her husband could remarry and thus her sons could accept whoever the wife would be.
She was asked why she decided to take such a drastic step.
“When I look back, it sure looks drastic, but at that time I did it in the heat of the moment,” she said. “I didn’t think that such a big hue and cry will be made out of it.”
Punewar and her husband have now applied for mutual divorce and Punewar doesn’t plan on getting married again anytime soon.
She wants to direct a Marathi film and perhaps act in others, and she is considering making a documentary or writing an auto-biography.
“I would like to document my life in a film considering all that I have gone through in the last few years,” she said.
