After Vhong Navarro was beaten, Deniece Millet Cornejo bought a laptop with editing software, in the latest news update to the situation.

The National Bureau of Investigation sent a subpoena to a computer store in Quezon City where Cornejo bought the computer after Navarro allegedly tried to rape her.

CCTV footage inside the computer store showed a woman, allegedly Cornejo, entering the store on January 26, four days after the incident. January 26 is when Navarro gave his first interview after the incident, saying that Cornejo, businessman Cedric Lee, and a group of five others actually restrained him, beat him, and blackmailed him. CCTV footage from the apartment appears to back up his story.

Cornejo asked security at the Forbeswood condominium where she lived, and where the incident took place, if she could take a look at the CCTV footage, claiming that she had lost some personal items.

Sources told ABS-CBN that Cornejo was looking for a computer in the computer store that had the capability to edit the CCTV footage.

Raymond Fortun, Cornejo’s spokesman, denied the claim. “She needed a laptop with photo editing because she is a model,” he said.

However, the NBI is checking up on the purchase, subpoenaing the computer store for a copy of the sales receipt.

The buyer of the computer has been identified as Cornejo.

The bureau has also obtained other CCTV footage, from January 17 and January 23, although it hasn’t disclosed what that footage is for.
