Avett Ray Maness is a 6-year-old piano prodigy from Dayton, Ohio, who not only taught himself to play piano by ear – but he’s also blind. Born with optic nerve fibroplasia, Avett is blind in one eye and visually impaired in the other.

In the viral video on Facebook, Avett is seen playing the piano—flawlessly—as he covers “Bohemian Rhapsody,” complete with the vocals to match his pianist talent. His mother is standing by to capture the entire moment on camera.

While being blind makes the performance even more impressive, the fact that Avett is self-taught has stunned viewers. Playing the piano for years on his own, he has developed his skills over time and been featured in several other home videos that have since gone viral, including a separate cover where he sings a song by artist Adele. Few can believe their eyes when watching this video and are left in awe by the performance put on by this young, 6-year-old boy.

It is a moment caught on tape that one must see to believe. It is inspiring, motivating, and simply stunning to watch Avett’s mastery of the keys in this captured performance.
