Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has promised to release a new “auto pact” that he says could win U.S. support and “rebuild our auto sector” in Canada.

On March 13, Poilievre set off for a weekend of meetings in Detroit, Michigan, promising to return to Windsor, Ont., on March 15 with details of a plan he called “literally the only hope” to safeguard the Canadian auto industry and jobs.
