The U.S. Intelligence Community’s 2025 Annual Threat Assessment identifies the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as the greatest threat to U.S. national security, citing Beijing’s efforts to undermine U.S. global influence through military buildup, cyber intrusion, economic coercion, and strategic alignment with hostile regimes.
