The evidence from two secret witnesses with first-hand knowledge about Chinese meddling in Canada’s democracy will be recorded via affidavits and sealed for 99 years as a security precaution, with the exception of summaries produced for public release, the Hogue Commission has ruled.
Commissioner Marie-Josée Hogue issued her decision Nov. 13 regarding the two potential witnesses and the methods for capturing and safeguarding their evidence for the foreign interference inquiry.
