Weather Forecast New York Today: Gale Warning

The weather forecast for New York today, Thursday, projects up to 10 inches of snow accumulation through Friday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning from 6 p.m. tonight through 1 p.m. on Friday. The warning calls for a snow storm to drop up to 6 to 10 inches, bringing winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The temperatures going into this evening will be around 30 degrees Fahrenheit and gradually lower into the 20’s and 10’s late Thursday night going into Friday. For the weather forecast for New York today, Friday night, expect North to Northwest winds from 28 to 40 miles per hour. 

The reported snowfall observations from the National Weather Service stated that Central Park has reached 6 inches, Astoria 8.1 inches, Woodside 7.8 inches, NYC/JFK 6.6 inches, and NYC/LA Guardia 6.9 inches.
