Achieving social media fame is pretty impressive for a dog that started out in life as a homeless puppy.

Marc and Jennifer adopted the then-8-week-old mischief maker from Colorado Puppy Rescue. From the beginning, they said, he’s been “a talker.” So much so that a hilarious video clip featuring the dog, which they named “Clark Griswold,” or “Sir Talksalot” as they sometimes affectionately call him, turned into a conversation that went viral online.
Marc and Jennifer uploaded the clip of their adorable Clark G to YouTube in which the funny pup is clearly trying to tell his mom something important. Either that, or he’s desperate for a rasher of bacon!
“He gets pushy, he wants attention,” Mark told Colorado’s Best. “He just starts talking!”

Listen to his hilarious chattering; what do you think Clark G is trying to get off his chest? The video got hundreds of thousands of hits, but Marc and Jennifer wondered whether there was any comedy potential to tap from the clip beyond Clark G’s own doggy ramblings.

There certainly was; by adding an ingenious voiceover, they managed to push this already-hilarious pup over the top and into the internet spotlight.

The original clip was sent to voiceover producer Andrew Grantham in Nova Scotia to tinker with. What came back was comedy gold.

The revised video, titled “Ultimate Dog Tease,“ uses Clark G’s infectious facial expressions and constantly moving mouth to enact a laugh-inducing ”food tease” between dog and owner. The perfectly synced mouth movements and dialogue make for a comedy sketch that you'll want to watch over and over again!

The skit runs through a series of tempting food descriptions from the refrigerator, including maple bacon, steak, chicken, and cat treats, and culminates in an epic letdown for the hungry pooch. Clark G’s response will truly have you in stitches.

Of course, the dog is not really talking, but you'd be forgiven for thinking so; the voiceover work is amazing! An astounding 198 million views on YouTube attests to that. Marc and Jennifer never expected viral fame, but they got it.

“The statistical odds of that happening is like winning the Powerball and getting struck by lightning at the same time,” Marc calculated. “People try to become viral, but this was strictly dumb luck!”

The dog-loving couple from Colorado have been inundated with invitations since Clark G’s clip went stratospheric. “We’ve signed a couple of contracts,” Marc shared, “and we’re filming some commercials, so it’s well on its way! He’s actually got more people than we do, corporate lawyers, the whole nine yards.”

The now-world-famous, once-homeless pup and his dog sister Layla have also become mascots for the American Humane Association. They lobby for thousands of their fellow pups that desperately need loving homes, plus an amazing world-wide spay-and-neuter campaign.

You can even follow the pup’s antics on Facebook. Clark G, we can’t get enough!

Does anybody have any bacon for this deserving fellow? (The maple kind.)
