Republican Govs. Patrick Morrisey, Henry McMaster, and Mike DeWine pledged on Aug. 16, to send hundreds of their National Guard troops from West Virginia, South Carolina, and Ohio, respectively, to assist with President Donald Trump’s law and order crackdown in the District of Columbia.

Morrisey announced on X that he had directed the deployment following a request from the Trump administration.
