President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan that would cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt for Americans was struck down by a federal judge in Texas on Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman, a Trump appointee, said in a 26-page ruling (pdf) that the plan is “an unconstitutional exercise of Congress’s legislative power and must be vacated.”
