MOUNT HOPE, N.Y.—The New York Air Show is making its 12th annual summer visit to Orange County Airport on Aug. 1 and 2.

Modern as well as historic planes will execute flybys and demonstrations, and attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a field of military aircraft and vehicles.

A top draw will be the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, one of America’s top military flight demonstration teams, who will soar in tight formation in their unique eagle and red-white-and-blue-decorated F-16 Fighting Falcons.

The event will also feature a race between a World War II-era P-51 Mustang fighter plane and a Cyberbeast cybertruck. Other attractions include the West Point “Black Nights” precision Parachute Team, helicopter maneuverability and precision demonstrations by the UH-72 Lakota, and flybys by the historic B-25J Mitchell “Panchito,” a restored World War II bomber.

Two performance flyers will join the show, with Galen Killam flying his Van’s RV-8 “Hammerhead” in a display of high-pressure airplane acrobatics, and Mark Meredith taking the controls of his restored open-cockpit Super Chipmunk, “Chippy.”

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus said in a news release that the event is a summer tradition that brings together county residents and aviation and military enthusiasts throughout the region.

Show times are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, with presale tickets starting at $37.50 for adults and $24.75 for children. Seating and ticket options can be found at the air show website.

In 2025, the air show drew thousands of spectators to the airfield, featuring multiple historic planes, F-22 Raptor flybys, and a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey demonstration. Army aircraft and vehicles such as the Osprey, Douglass C-47 Skytrain, and an M113 armored personnel carrier were available for visitors to explore on the ground.
