MIDDLETOWN, N.Y.—The New Middletown store is hosting an art exhibition celebrating the beauty and artistry of Shen Yun, featuring the 20th Anniversary Celebration Series on Aug. 1.

The Downtown Middletown art exhibition will showcase a new collection of paintings and Giclée Prints to mark the end of the Series. The performing arts company was established in 2006.

This event marks the first time these 20 new artworks will be shared publicly, and they will soon be available for purchase as premium prints.

A Giclée Print is a fine-art inkjet print produced using high-resolution and pigment-based printers. It produces higher-quality prints by using pigments instead of dyes and eliminates visible dot patterns. Shen Yun uses Hahnemühle Museum Etching Paper, a printing paper known for its high-quality image capture and feel.

The art prints show photos and paintings of scenes from Shen Yun’s dances and stories. Some previous art pieces include “Elegance of a Majestic Era,” “Heavenly Fairies of the Peach Garden,” and “Lost in a Painting,” all available at the Shen Yun Collections online store.

Visitors can join Shen Yun at New Middletown to celebrate this milestone on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will include classical music performances, which are a staple of New Middletown. The venue hosts multiple candlelight classical concerts each year.

The art exhibition coincides with the opening of New Middletown’s new art gallery, which will be open to the public after the event.

New Middletown is a department store on Downtown Middletown’s main road, North Street. It was formerly a Tompkins Department Store until it left for a suburban mall in the 1970s. The first floor is dedicated to merchandise from Shen Yun Collections and Shen Yun Dancer, which includes handbags, scarves, jewelry, clothing, and home goods.

The second floor sells everyday products made locally and from around the world, including German knives, Italian pasta, and Asian snacks.
