Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms Inc., will not be held personally liable in lawsuits alleging that social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram contribute to addiction and mental health issues among young users, a federal judge ruled on Nov. 7.

U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in the Northern District of California granted Zuckerberg’s motion to dismiss claims of fraudulent and negligent concealment and misrepresentation asserted against him personally in more than two dozen cases consolidated in a multidistrict litigation.
