NEW YORK—From the front lines to the home front, America’s military veterans and first responders are committed to serving our nation and our community, and protecting us.

The Epoch Times is honored to launch Battlefields, a new project featuring articles and podcasts exclusively created by veterans and first responders.
The Epoch Times’ Battlefields project gives voice to America’s service community and highlights their triumphs and tragedies.

“We’re proud to launch Battlefields and to partner with an incredible group of veterans and first responders,” said Jasper Fakkert, editor-in-chief of The Epoch Times.

“These are stories that deserve to be told, and we can’t think of better people to tell them. We invite our readers to the Battlefields space to gain a better understanding of the issues that matter to veterans, first responders, and their supporters.”

Retired Lt. Col. Charles Faint, owner and executive director of The Havok Journal, brings his vast knowledge and experience to Battlefields. He retired from the Army after 27 years of service as an officer in the Infantry and Military Intelligence branches. He completed seven combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“The Battlefields project provides a unique opportunity for America to hear directly from our military veterans and first responders as they share their experiences on the front lines and the home front,” Faint said.

“As a war veteran and a peace officer, I think it’s vitally important that venues like the Battlefields project exist.

“I’m grateful for the partnership between The Epoch Times and The Havok Journal and to have this platform to help our nation’s warriors share their perspectives and experiences with the nation that they serve.”

Please check out the Battlefields website for insightful content, such as:
Bad Military Leaders: Toxic Versus Radioactive,” an article written by Faint that talks about the effects of different types of bad leadership.
Most Americans Believe That Most Veterans Have PTSD,” an article that hopes to set the record straight about PTSD and veterans.
Why You Want Cops to Have a Warrior’s Mindset,” an article written by Ayman Kafel, an eight-year Army veteran who was deployed to Iraq in 2005 and became a police officer in 2007. He has worked as a patrol officer, plainclothes officer, a Metro-SWAT operator, a detective in a major crimes unit, a narcotics task force detective with the DEA, and an operator with the DEA special response team.
Keep up with Faint’s weekly podcast, where he interviews veterans about their experiences overseas, the challenges they faced upon their return, and the tools they employed to help the transition. Faint also interviews first responders at home: America’s police officers, firefighters, and paramedics.

The Battlefields staff is a diverse collective of military veterans and first responders and their supporters, who share their thoughts and experiences on the front lines and the home front through The Epoch Times.

In their own words, and from their own hearts, these ... are their Battlefields.
