Slim Twig made his first of two stops in New York City Saturday night as he performed in Palisades in support of the 2014 re-release of his album, A Hound At The Hem

The indie pop act, whose real name is Max Turnbull, came on stage with a yellow and purple outfit where the jacket on the back said “Born to Run.” Slim Twig performed with a band behind him as he played tracks such as “Widow, Were You Younger” and “Madeline Has A Body.”

Slim Twig’s art and glam rock influences were displayed throughout the set, as his songs highlighted his whimsical and creative side that made him sound beyond his years.

Among the other acts that performed at Palisades included headliners U.S. Girls, whom Slim Twig has collaborated with in the past, and openers Eaters and Bottoms.

Slim Twig will be performing at the Cake Shop in Brooklyn Sunday night before finishing off the tour in his native Toronto this upcoming week with U.S. Girls.
