Volcanoes in 2021 Push for Eruption Forecast Research
This year was marked by numerous eruptions of volcanoes, with two topping the charts in terms of media attention and interest from the volcanologists: the Fagradalsfjall in Iceland and the Cumbre Vieja in La Palma, Spain.
As usual, Etna and Stromboli continued to erupt, but more unusual volcanic events happened as well.
