A pregnant woman in Charlotte was beaten while waiting at a bus stop, police said.

Olivia Onukogu, 25, is just days away from having her first child.

But on Saturday she was shocked when a stranger attacked her.

“He came up and was like, ‘I’m waiting for the bus just like you.’ And I was like, ‘OK.’ Then he slapped me on the butt to distract me and grabbed my purse,” she told WSOC.

Onukogu wrestled the purse back, but the man then began kicking her.

Fortunately, a sonogram indicated that both mother and child are OK.

But police are still searching for the assailant, described as a black man with a full beard. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911.
