A mother sea otter and her 1-day old baby shared an otterly heartwarming moment together as both floated downstream.

The little fluffy otter was born just the day before in the Great Tide Pool of the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Dec. 20, 2015.

The footage shows the mother holding her pup’s hands while the pup lays on her stomach. While the baby otter is sleeping, it looks like the mother is also trying to get into a comfortable position to catch some sleep as well.

The aquarium sits beside the ocean allowing in and out flow between sides while preventing the worst of waves from hitting. The mother had sought refuge in one of the pools of the Monterey Bay Aquarium to give birth in order to protect it from a stormy waves and other animals.

Captured on camera a day after the young otter was born by an employee at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, it looks like both of them found home at last.
