Ryan Holiday, author and creator of the website “The Daily Stoic,” has spent several years writing a four-book series on the classical virtues: courage, temperance, justice, and wisdom. The volume on temperance and self-control, “Discipline Is Destiny” was a favorite of mine, offering such an abundance of helpful advice that I gave copies to my four adult children.
