Longtime actor Michael Douglas, who considers President-elect Donald Trump a friend, said he’s “not an idiot.”
“I personally know the President-elect Donald Trump. I’ve spent time with him, played golf with him, my wife Catherine and I have the same birthday and have had him (Trump) at parties together,” Douglas, 72, was quoted by the New York Post as saying. He was speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
“I’ve always found him to be charming and have a self-deprecating humor—but then again, one of the things you learn playing golf is not to talk politics or religion,” Douglas, who is a longtime Democratic donor, further stated. He also backed Hillary Clinton during the election.
“I think we have to wait. He’s not an idiot so I will be curious to see what plays out,” Douglas said.
According to the Post, Douglas is asking people to withhold judgment during Trump’s first 100 days in office.

Trump is slated to take office on Friday, Jan. 20, during Inauguration Day.
Meanwhile, Trump’s International Golf Course Scotland in Aberdeenshire will be expanded, which will include a second 18-hole golf course and a new 450-room hotel, as The Hill reported.
“Implementing future phasing of existing properties does not constitute a new transaction so we intend to proceed,” a Trump Organization spokeswoman was quoted as saying.
