James on Sports Illustrated cover for 20th time

MIAMI—LeBron James says the jump shot that clinched the NBA title for the Miami Heat had him thinking about Michael Jordan’s iconic shot that wrapped up a championship for Chicago 15 years earlier. James tells Sports Illustrated for a story released Wednesday that his shot with 27.9 seconds left in Game 7 of the NBA Finals “was an MJ moment.” Then he paused a moment and added, “It was an LJ moment.”

In an interview with SI, James says that he played through several injuries during the finals, and that his back, hamstring, ankle and elbows were all aching when the series was over.

James is on the cover of the magazine this week for the 20th time. The image is of him gazing down at the Larry O'Brien Trophy, with his reflection visible off the top of the gold ball.
