Dog owner Stephanie Kessel Walton’s German shepherd Jaxson Rose knows what she likes when it comes to music. Her favorite song is Flo Rida’s “Low,” and there’s video evidence to prove it. In a now-viral clip, Jaxson dances along to the track using her very best assets: her huge, expressive ears.

The video of then-4-year-old Jaxson grooving to her favorite tune went viral back in 2014; to date, the hilarious footage has been enjoyed by millions of people all around the world, and Jaxson has become something of a canine celebrity.

Riding shotgun beside her human companion, Jaxson responds immediately when the first few beats of “Low” fill the car. Her huge ears tap to the rhythm of the music, moving left, right, up, and down in perfect time with the chart-topping rap song.

Jaxson’s moves were shared on YouTube; as of December 2019, the giggle-inducing clip has amassed over 14.8 million views. While many viewers commented that Jaxson’s antics had made them laugh and brightened their day, some voiced skepticism about whether the sweet dog’s moves were indeed her own.

Was there some cunning canine choreography at work?

“I don’t buy it,” one viewer commented. “Someone is behind that dog, squeezing the scruff to make the ears move like that. Camera is kept in a position so we don’t see the arm.”

“Yes, it’s fake, we all know that, but who cares?” another viewer contributed. “It’s adorable!”

Adding a different perspective, one viewer wrote: “I was actually relieved to notice someone was pulling on something behind the dog. Some dogs will put their ears back when they hear noises that bother them.”

Not everyone was such a wet blanket, though.

“I love this!” one happy viewer shared. “I keep playing it because it is such a feel-good video!”

Another viewer, having enjoyed Jaxson’s smooth moves, reflected, “I should remake this with my shepherd.”

As Jaxson’s comically choreographed grooving gained popularity, Jaxson and Stephanie were invited to fly from their hometown of Marion, Indiana, to appear on Fox News’s “Cause for Paws“ television feature in Los Angeles, California. The segment was devised to help showcase adoptable rescue dogs in the L.A. area and find them the loving forever homes they all deserved.

The November 2014 show was hosted by actresses Hilary Swank and Jane Lynch. Dog-loving celebrities such as David Arquette, Sharon and Kelly Osborne, Kathy Griffin, Rebecca Romain, and Jerry O’Connell, as well as the famous “dog whisperer” himself, Cesar Millan, were in attendance.

Jaxson and her owner snagged a selfie with the actress Betty White, perhaps most famous for her role as “Rose” on the beloved, long-running TV sitcom “The Golden Girls.”

“It was an amazing experience,” Stephanie later told Q13 Fox, “nothing like having Betty White take a selfie with your dog!”

Jaxson was also nominated for a Golden Bone award in the Weirdest Dog Talent video category. Needless to say, the sweet German shepherd and her hilarious canine choreography walked away with the trophy.

Other award categories included Funniest Dog, Cutest Puppy, Most Talented Dog, Best Celebrity/Dog Lookalike, Best Talking Dog, and Best Viral Dog Video.

Stephanie took to Facebook to share photos of her now-famous pup and her shiny, gold, bone-shaped award. “Jaxson Rose received her Golden Bone from Fox today,” Stephanie wrote. “As you can see, she is thrilled. She’s using it as a reminder to us that she is the star around this joint.”

The good-natured German shepherd’s star status seems to be justified; Jaxson’s timeless dance moves continue to delight viewers all around the world.
