First New Tang Poets Reading Held

First New Tang Poets Reading Held
“Evening Landscape” by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot (1796-1875).
|Updated:

Held on April 14, 2014, at Da Tang, in New York, participants read Tang Dynasty poetry, contemporary poetry previously written by attendees, and wrote Haiku. Here are some of the poems:

A Spring Gathering

Early spring beings,
A pulsing celebration,
In the night, they sing.

-James Smith

Evening Choir

The voices of birds
Singing under the moon shine
Like wise spoken words.

-Jörge Wenzel

Evening

The lake’s voices chirp
Beneath a warm dark curtain,
Tea is softly slurped.

New Tang Poets

Ancient poets speak,
Fresh air gently wafts right in
From the mountain’s peak.
