Could Trump Actually Go to Jail Soon?
Rikers Island, the notorious New York City jail, is prepared to handle the situation in case former President Donald Trump is sent to prison for violating a gag order in a New York court case.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams told reporters that discussions are already underway to make preparations.
Earlier this week, Judge Juan Merchan who is overseeing Trump’s so-called “hush-money” trial threatened to jail the former president if he violated a gag order again.
“Mr. Trump it’s important you understand the last thing I want to do is put you in jail. You are the former president of the United States and possibly the next president as well,” the judge said.
Imprisoning a former president, and a presidential candidate, may not be as easy as it sounds, however.
