The electric grid is of vital importance to the national security of the United States, and according to Tommy Waller, president of the Center for Security Policy, foreign adversaries have been attempting to attack the grid in order to subdue the United States without actually fighting. We speak to him about how serious foreign threats to the grid are, how efforts to enhance grid security have been hampered by “regulatory capture,” and tangible actions we can take to protect the grid.
