A man charged with stalking rapper Eminem and breaking into his home has been found guilty on two counts.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, testified during the trial that began on May 6, with the jury quickly deliberating and returning with the guilty verdict.
Hughes was arrested last year after trespassing onto the rapper’s property in Clinton Township, a suburb north of Detroit. He fled the scene and was apprehended days later at a local Walmart.
According to court records, bail was set at $500,000, which Hughes failed to post, and he has remained in jail since the arrest. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Hughes will face sentencing on June 17 before Judge Diane Druzinski.
This isn’t the first instance Hughes has been charged with home invasion regarding the rapper. In 2020, he broke into Eminem’s home and made his way into his bedroom, where he threatened to kill him.
In 2019, Hughes also broke into one of Eminem’s former homes in Rochester Hills looking for him. He was found in the guest house on the property and served 90 days behind bars after being convicted of breaking and entering.
The Epoch Times contacted Hughes’s legal representation for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.
