A professional drag racer is lucky to be alive after she crashed her vehicle during a race.
“Reigning World Champion Brittany Force experienced an unbelievable crash during eliminations at the Lucas Oil Winternats,” NHRA said in a statement.
“Force was responsive and speaking with medical staff and was transported to the hospital for evaluation,” the statement added.
Force won last year’s Top Fuel championship, according to ESPN.
“We all want to do what we did last year,” Force said. “It’s about staying strong because that keeps your team motivated.
“The Virginia race will be a challenge because we don’t have anything to carry over from last year. We will really have to figure out our car in the four qualifying runs we get before race day.”
