Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was so upset by a protester at his Las Vegas rally that he wanted to punch him in the face.

As security escorted the protester from the arena, Trump mused: “I'd like to punch him in the face.”

But he told the crowd that, unlike the “old days,” when the man would have been taken out of the event on a stretcher, the guards were being “very gentle,” allowing the man to walk out of the venue unharmed despite trying to fight off security officers, according to wire reports.

“You know what I hate? There’s a guy totally disruptive, throwing punches. We’re not allowed to punch back anymore,” Trump said, calling the man “nasty as hell.”

“I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They'd be carried out in a stretcher, folks.”

The crowd clapped in agreement.

It’s unclear as of yet what the protester was protesting, although another protester earlier in the event had raised a banner that read, “Veterans to Trump: End hate speech against Muslims.”
