Multiple Deaths Reported in 2 Stabbing Incidents in Shenzhen

Witnesses describe separate attacks in two districts, although no official statements have been issued, and information appears heavily censored.

Two separate stabbing incidents were reported in Shenzhen, China, on March 26, leaving multiple people dead or injured, according to eyewitness accounts and residents.

Authorities have not issued any official statements, and information appears to be tightly controlled.

Several witnesses and local residents spoke to The Epoch Times on condition of anonymity out of fear of reprisal.

The first incident occurred early Wednesday morning in a busy commercial pedestrian area in Luohu District, which borders Hong Kong.

An eyewitness told The Epoch Times that a woman with a machete began attacking passersby near an intersection close to Renmin North Road shortly after 6 a.m.

“She was shouting loudly, talking about the government and even mentioning Xi Jinping, saying society was corrupt and bad,” the witness said. “[It seemed like] an act of revenge against society.”

According to the witness, five people were attacked, with two appearing dead on the scene and three injured. One of the victims killed was a 14-year-old middle schooler whose mother was present, the witness said.

“It was terrifying. She was swinging the machete, and no one dared approach her,” the witness said, adding that both men and women were among the victims.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and police subdued the suspect at around 7 a.m., the witness said.

Videos and information about the attack have largely been removed from Chinese social media platforms, though some clips and comments remain circulating online. The witness said the incident has been “strictly censored,” possibly due to concerns about its impact on local commerce in the area.

A second incident was reported later that evening in Longgang District, though details remain unclear.

Local residents told The Epoch Times that a food delivery worker was involved in a violent altercation with local students. One resident said the attacker killed two students, while another claimed that six people were injured and two died. The Epoch Times cannot independently verify these claims.

A local food delivery worker told The Epoch Times that information about the incident spread quickly among their delivery networks through online chat groups, but that many groups had since been shut down.

“Everyone is afraid to share videos now,” the worker said. “The monitoring is very strict.”

According to accounts circulating online, the incident may have been triggered by a collision or dispute between the delivery worker and the students, which escalated into violence. Unverified videos appear to show a suspect restrained on the ground while bystanders call police. Reports on Chinese social media also suggest a large police response, with multiple vehicles and officers securing the scene.

As of publication, Shenzhen authorities have not released any police reports or public statements regarding either incident. Online discussion continues to be restricted, making independent verification of key details difficult.
