California Man Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison for Acting as Agent of Chinese Intelligence Agency

A California man originally from China has been sentenced to four years in prison for acting as an agent of the Chinese regime’s intelligence agency, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced March 17.
Xuehua (Edward) Peng, 56, a former tour operator in the San Francisco Bay Area, pleaded guilty in November 2019 in connection with acting as a courier for China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS)—the country’s chief intelligence agency.
