U.S. new home sales in the last two months of 2025 delivered a Christmas surprise for the housing market, with November reaching a near four-year high and December close behind.

A Census Bureau report issued on Feb. 20 indicates the November seasonally adjusted new single-family home sales nationwide saw a 15.5 percent increase from the previous month to an annual rate of 758,000 units, marking the highest level since February 2022, when the annual rate reached 788,000 units.
