A Silicon Valley Star Hit by ‘Massive Fraud’ Charge

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged embattled blood-testing company Theranos and its founder, Elizabeth Holmes, with “massive fraud” on March 14.

The SEC accused Holmes and Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, the company’s former president, of “raising more than $700 million from investors through an elaborate, years-long fraud.”
