McConnell Says Failed Impeachment Effort a ‘Colossal Political Mistake’ as Schumer Alleges an Unfair Trial

The impeachment effort against Republican President Donald Trump was a “political loser” for Democrats, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), 77, said on Wednesday after Trump was acquitted of both articles of impeachment.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), 69, meanwhile, alleged that the trial wasn’t fair because no more witnesses were called.
