An area around London Wall was evacuated on Tuesday over a bomb scare that turned out to be a gas leak, according to local reports.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed the incident, tweeting, "Firefighters are attending a gas leak on #LondonWall EC2. Please avoid the area if possible."
The leak was reported to be close to the Moorgate junction of London Wall.
Aniel Patel, a witness, told the paper: "Security personnel are doing a good job keeping people safe."
The section is closed between Wood Street and Blomfield Street, the Daily Star reported.
