Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. team up in the comedy road movie Due Date, set for release this Friday, Nov. 5.

The zany comedy has Peter Highman (Downey Jr.), an expectant first-time father, trying to get home before his wife’s due date, just five days away.

Galifianakis and a French bulldog named Honey (or was it Sonny?), go along for the cross-country road trip that destroys cars, friendships and nerves, according to mtv.com.

Director Todd Phillips re-teams with “Hangovers” star Galifianakis for the comedy road movie. However, Downey is reportedly unhappy with his Due Date co-star Galifianakis for his involvement in getting Mel Gibson fired from Hangover 2, according to perezhilton.com.

Downey was influential in getting Gibson the cameo so things became pretty tense between the Due Date stars after Gibson lost the role. Sources say that Downey felt Gibson deserved another chance, and that he’s unhappy with Galifianakis for his part in getting Gibson fired.

Tensions have been running high between Galifianakis and Downey during the promotion of Due Date. The two posed together at the end of the red carpet at the L.A. premiere recently, but they weren’t exactly as buddy-buddy as usual, eOnline reported.

Differences aside, will Galifianakis and Downey rank among the great comedy duos in film history? Friday’s release will give moviegoers the chance to decide.
