Social video obtained and verified by Reuters shows the aftermath of ‘‘yellow vest’' protesters smashing a coffee shop and setting fire to a motorbike in Paris on Dec. 8 in a fourth weekend of unrest that has shaken President Emmanuel Macron’s authority.

Protesters were seen shouting anti-government slogans on roads fanning out from the Champs Elysees boulevard in the capital.

Nearly 1,000 people had been arrested, 620 of them in Paris, after police found potential weapons such as hammers and baseball bats on them.

Bordeaux, Lyon, Toulouse and other cities also saw major clashes between protesters and police on Dec. 8.
